Baby shower flash back

I have a friends baby shower this weekend which I’m so excited for and it’s got me reminiscing on my baby shower and what a beautiful day it was. It was such a special occasion and one I won’t ever forget so I thought I would share some photos with you all.

We had a gathering of friends at our house and unlike most other showers, James and his friends were a big part of the day too. I didn’t think it was fair that only I got to celebrate the much anticipated arrival of our baby girl.

I ordered some really beautiful invitations from and they quite often have discount codes available. It was really simple to create and only took about 20 minutes to design and purchase them.

We decided to go for a colour theme of pale pink, cream and gold which I think worked really well. I’m not a massive fan of pink so having a subtle pink was definitely in my favour! All the decorations were provided and set up by, Natasha, who you can find on instagram (@pinkie_natasha). She was amazing! She decorated the cake table and put together a flower/balloon arch in the garden for photos. Her attention to detail with colours etc was incredible and she added some really lovely touches that I hadn’t even asked for. She was 10/10!

The cake was made by James’ cousin who is super talented at baking. I chose something really simple and topped it with some fresh flowers from a local florist – it looked and tasted so lovely! My mother in law also spoilt us with a tower of hand crafted cupcakes, they were so sweet and real winner with our guests.

My lovely friends surprised with me some hand made biscuits which were my favourite. They looked far too good to eat and tasted incredible – They definately helped to fuel my energy levels for walking around in heels all day!

We also had a mimosa bar which I renamed ‘mumosa’ bar (round of applause please!) with bottles of prosecco and different flavoured cordials and fruits for our guests to create their own tipple!

I wasn’t too keen on the idea of playing games, especially the chocolate nappy game that makes everyone want to vom! Instead we had a BBQ and music which I really enjoyed as I’m always one for a good boogie! It was nice and (fairly) chilled – exactly what I wanted and needed at 36 weeks pregnant!

We did the obligatory guess the baby’s birth date and weight which was a good laugh – I was shocked to see that some people thought I was having a 10 pounder at 3 weeks early. Bloody cheek!

I wore a camel coloured dress from Jayde L Boutique and paired it with some nude heels from Office. This dress is so lightweight and is double lined which is very helpful when carrying lots of excess water! It’s a gorgeous material and a dress I can definately wear now that I’m not pregnant too. You can also adjust the top of the dress so you can wear it multiple ways e.g. off the shoulder, both shoulders or no shoulder at all.

The day was just perfect. Both myself and the baby were completely spoilt with gifts and still to this day we continue to make our way through the tonne of nappies and wipes we were given!
